This nitrogen-rich soil amendment is made from composted organic produce, processed at high speed for a fine, dark finish, and heated to over 130 F to kill weed seeds. It's best used to enrich soil, not for planting directly, due to its high nutrient concentration.

Recommendations:

For revitalizing lawns, 2 methods are

  • spread a 2 inch thick layer of compost onto dirt and till it in 4 inches deep

  • spread a thin 0.5 to 1 inch layer over grass seed or under sod to help grass get established

For all other kinds of planting, mix compost 1:1 with dirt.
